The 3rd Fightmaster Cup

This is the week prior to the Ryder Cup and will ensure maximum exposure to the Fightmaster and give participants the option of staying on to watch the Ryder Cup. The responsibility for getting Team Europe to Chicago will come under the stewardship of the Irish Fightmaster Committee who have made the following appointed persons as part of the working Group: -

Team Europe Captain for 2012 Mary Fahy, Vice Captains Keith Dewhurst, Nick Champness, David Schutsander, and Dougie Jopp. They in turn will be supported by Brian Fahy, Michael Cole, Michael O’ Grady and Society Vice President Brendan Swan.

Peter Priscott will act as Treasurer in the interim. It is estimated that this event will cost Team Europe in the region of €30k to suit and boot the Team and Captain for the duration of their stay in Chicago. We are currently in talks with a tour operator and will hope to have travel and accommodation package costs soon. Obviously the big issue will be funding the Team I would call on each Region, to come up with ideas for fundraising or any member who may have contacts with companies that may like to help in funding or merchandising which can go towards the 2012 Fight-master and Europe’s defence of the Cup.

The team will be selected at the St.Andrews Championship and will mainly rely on results from the last two years.
